Welcome to the 64th Annual Virginia State 4-H Championship Horse and Pony Show. This year's show will be held September 4-7, 2025 at the Virginia Horse Center in Lexington, VA.

Please make sure you review all the current RULES prior to entering the system.

Please make sure that you have the following information on hand prior to beginning the entry process:

  1. The date and location of your Qualifying clinic or show
    1. If you are using an outside qualifying show, and are listed on the 2025 qualified riders list, you do not need to upload the paper form.
  2. Your completed Jumper Qualifying form (if applicable)
  3. Your completed Trail Qualifying form (if applicable)
Refer to class descriptions in the RULES while completing your entries.

Double check class descriptions (junior, senior, pony, horse) and make sure you are entering the correct class.

  • You may only enter One Trail class per horse/rider combination.
  • If competing in the Working Hunter and/or Hunter Pleasure Divisions, you may only enter ONE of those respective Equitation classes (either Huntseat Equitation on the Flat OR Over Fences).

The Office Fee for the entirety of the show is $75.00. Class fees and stall fees will be in addition to the initial office fee.

Fees will be $25.00 per class. You may enter more than one showmanship or equitation class (exception - Huntseat Equitation), but must have the correct tack and attire to compete in each. Riders may only show one horse in a single class, they may not enter multiple horses to compete in the same class.

There are several primary departments in which classes are held, listed below. You may enter into classes within different divisions, but keep in mind that class conflicts are your responsibility. Classes will not be held for class conflicts.

  • English Pleasure - Gaited/SaddleSeat
  • Gymkhana
  • Working Hunter
  • Hunter Pleasure
  • Miniature
  • Ranch
  • Walk/Trot/Jog
  • Western

Failure to provide any of the requested information will result in your entry being rejected and returned for completion.

***Credit Card payment is not available for the 2025 VA State 4-H Championship Horse and Pony Show. Individuals and clubs will be invoiced by FairEntry and can pay by personal check (to "Treasurer of Virginia Tech" with State Horse Show in memo line), check from the Virginia Tech Foundation, or club funds. You are responsible for sharing your FairEntry invoice with your club leader and/or VCE Agent if paying with club funds.

Stall Fees for your HORSE at $25.00/night:

All exhibitors are allowed to bring two horses with the exception of juniors in their first year of showing at the state show and those exhibiting in the Walk/Trot/Jog Division.

Tack Stalls are no longer provided free of charge to individuals or clubs/Units. Tack stalls are $25.00 per night and may be purchased individually or shared with other exhibitors. There is a question within the entry system that captures your need and plans for Tack Stalls.

If you are a club leader utilizing the entry system to purchase club tack stalls, please utilize the Department "Club Tack Stalls" to complete those questions and request club tack stalls. You MUST be an enrolled club leader or VCE Agent to complete this entry.

Entry Fees are payable in the form of check made payable to: "Treasurer at Virginia Tech" with State Horse Show and Exhibitor Names in the memo section. Payment should be postmarked no later than August 10th.
